"Chandler Hall believes that its community and services are enriched by diversity. One of our seven stated values is: "Respecting diversity and honoring generational differences and individual uniqueness". Our commitment is not one of polite accommodation or tolerance, but one of active non-judgmental inclusion of all members of our community (and the community we seek out) - their ethnicity/culture, race, religion, cognitive and physical differences, gender, sexual preferences, generational differences, and individual uniqueness."
This belief reflects our commitment to recognizing and upholding the dignity of each individual in the Chandler Hall community. We recognize and appreciate the diversity of our employees. As part of our staff development, we started an 'English as a Second Language' class for our staff and staff from local long term senior care communities. The result has been increased confidence in communication which has led to stronger relationships between our residents and their caregivers.

Chandler Hall, in its commitment to being on the leading edge of senior care as well as being responsive to the changing needs of consumers, has undergone a complete renovation of the Hicks Assisted Living Residence. We are now able to offer more private accommodations and the updated living areas provide opportunity for the nurturing of individual needs and talents.
The Hospice Program at Chandler Hall has also responded to the growing needs of the community by providing more alternative therapies, such as massage therapy, aromatherapy and reiki.
Chandler Hall continues to believe that to be the best, there has to be collaborative community partnerships. To that end, we have developed a Girl Scout intergenerational badge curriculum which is offered on-site to local Troops. We have also joined with other care communities in disaster plan activities and preparedness training.
With so many successes, we are encouraged to continue to keep working on meeting our current strategic initiatives and look forward to the development of a new strategic plan in 2009.
