The Hospice Program at Chandler Hall focuses on a holistic model of care. An interdisciplinary team comprised of a Medical Director, Registered Nurse, Social Worker, Care Manager, Home Health Aides and Volunteers provides pain and symptom management, personal care assistance, spiritual support, education in end-of-life issues, counseling and bereavement support. Chandler Hall's Hospice has grown to include all end-of-life diagnoses and provides care for an
average of over 400 persons and their families each year.
Hospice Care includes the following:One of the main goals of the hospice program is to provide comfort to care recipients suffering from a terminal illness. Alternative therapies are drug free forms of comfort care that relieve common physical ailments and have been shown to have both physical and psychological benefits. Alternative therapies include music therapy, aromatherapy, energy work, visual imagery, reflexology, massage therapy, and other modalities that can be individualized to a particular person receiving hospice care.
