In 1982, Chandler Hall began its Hospice Program in response to the Quaker commitment to serve the community. As one of the first two hospices in Pennsylvania, this in-home volunteer-intensive program provided symptom control, family counseling, spiritual care and practical support to families. It became apparent that a need existed for an inpatient setting, and by 1986, Chandler Hall opened the doors to an eight bed residence, the forerunner of the current Heacock Hospice Pavilion.
In 2001 the Hospice Pavilion received transformation and was expanded to include additional private and semi-private accommodations for a total of 14 beds. The result is what you see today.
